The History (and Future) of Wearable Technology
"Meeting the Challenge: The Path Towards a Consumer Wearable Computer," is a new exhibit curated by Georgia Tech faculty and researchers that makes its campus wide debut in 2015. Showcasing more than 20 years of research and commercial efforts to bring wearable computing technology into our daily lives, the exhibition includes electronic textiles, advances in battery life, on-body interfaces, and head mounted displays. Thad Starner, Interactive Computing and a technical lead on Google Glass, and Clint Zeagler, Industrial Design, have shown the exhibit in Canada, Germany and China. The exhibit will be part of the College of Computing's 25th Anniversary in January 2015.
